Challenges and some candy!!!!

I had a very successful stamping weekend and so I have several things to show you. And then I have the blog candy announcement that I promised!

The first card is for a GSG challenge. The challenge was to CASE a layout from the Occasions mini. I CASED the card on page 8.
The DSP is from Bali Breeze. The sentiment comes from an Occasion Mini set called Sassy Suzi. I also used Die Cut Blooms from the mini paired with Flower Fusion and a clear Rhinestone brad from the Pretties kit.

I inked up the Die Cut blooms to give them a little more dimension. I also added some white polka dots with a gel pen.

This next card is for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. I especially loved the challenge this week. As soon as I looked at the sketch, I knew that I wanted to use the new Fresh Cuts stamps. Beate used the same stamp set- but I think I made mine look much different that her beautiful card.

I just has to use the Afternoon Tea DSP AGAIN! I love that stuff and I figure I best use it all I can before it retires at the end of this month. I am also on a soft Sky kick so that is the color I chose for the base and for the ribbon. I had trouble tying that bow- but I think I worked it out! And isn't this silver hodgepodge awesome?!! I hope it makes it to the new catty!

The next card is for SCS featured stamper challenge. As soon as I saw that the featured stamper was Maren Zany not Crazy blog- I knew I needed to participate. I have been stalking her blog since the fall. I am always amazed at how much stamping she is able to do while taking care of three young boys! I chose to CASE this card:

Since I still had the supplies on my desk from the last card- I used them again! I just switched the Soft Sky Ribbon for Groovy Guava.

I kept Maren's layout and just changes the stamps, ribbon, colors, and DSP. I liked how both of these Fresh Cuts cards turned out! It is quickly becoming my favorite stamp set. I will give you more details about my Fresh Cuts class tomorrow. This post is just too long!

Next I want to show you the scrapbook page that I made on Saturday morning. I took the pictures of my son at the pool on Saturday afternoon.

I CASED this particular layout from Jana Wilson. The DSP is Spring Break and I am just loving it! The colors are sooo yummy! I stamped the word "waves" with the Best Friends Lower Alphabet. The journaling is computer generated. I cut the huge circle with my Curvy Cutter. I love that thing! And I used some more of that silver hodgepodge to include the date.

So are you impressed that pictures from this weekend are already in my scrapbook?!

On to the candy:

I am giving away the retired Double Line Doodles stamp set (minus the heart stamp that went missing at some point) a retired Daisy punch and 2 classic ink spots: Purely Pomegranate and Wild Wasabi. All you have to do to win is sign up to receive my blog updates through email. My Feed blitz sign up is on the top left of my blog. I will choose a random winner on Wednesday night from the list of my subscribers!

48 hours without internet!!!

On Saturday morning- my Internet just died!! It was awful! My hubby tried fixing it and then he even called customer service. But no luck. So all weekend- I had to stare at the computer and wonder what was in my inbox or what fabulous projects had been posted on my favorite blogs. Torture!!! Luckily- I was the first stop for the Cox man this morning and now I am back up and running!

After my crazy week of sick kids- Scott was sweet enough to give me Saturday afternoon "off." No kid duty and no dinner cooking! So I scrapbooked!!! I made soooo many layouts! And I used a lot of older supplies that I had never touched. But I have to fess up....I committed Stampin' Up adultery! I didn't use my stamps at all!!! I just felt like doing something different. I'll show you some of those layouts later this week.

Right now I want to show you the card I made for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. I made this card using the Crew Kid's Girl Simply Scrappin' kit. I eyed this kit for so long and I finally got it with free hostess merchandise. Aren't the colors fun and kindof preppy?

Recipe:

Paper: Basic Bray, DSP from Crew Kids Girl Simply Scrappin Kit, Wild Wasabi, Regal Rose

Get Well Wishes

I made this card yesterday after seeing Beate's beautiful card using this sketch. She used the rocket from Pun Fun and originally- I thought I would use that set as well. But when I reached for it, I saw Fun and Fast Notes. I rarely use this set. In fact- I think the only time I used this flower stamp was at convention last summer! This card base is 8 1/2 x 4 1/4. After I folded it in half- I cut an inch off the front. Then I put a 4x4 piece of Ruby Red inside the card. I am still practicing my watercoloring, but I have to admit that I like the way this one turned out! Sorry the pictures are so dark. I just couldn't get a good picture of this one for some reason.

I caught a cold or sinus infection yesterday. I don't know how you get a cold when it is 80+ degrees outside. Is it ok to make yourself a Get Well card?!!

Recipe:

Stamps: Fun and Fast Notes

Paper: Giner Blossoms DSP, Groovy Guava, Ruby Red, Watercolor Paper

Ink: Black Stazon, Groovy Guava, Ruby Red, River Rock, Basic Gray

Other: Aquapianter, Silver Brads, Guava Ribbon, Photo Corner Punch, Demensionals

Beate's sketch challenge

I checked Beate's sketch challenge out this morning while the kids were eating breakfast. I initially didn't have any ideas but I knew I wanted to participate. So as soon as my hubby left to take the kids to school- I pulled out my One of a Kind stamp set and my brand new Boho Blossoms punch. I had this card just about finished by the time my hubby got back! Not bad, huh?
I am discovering that even though I am not that great at coloring yet- it always looks better with watercolor paper!!

Recipe:

Stamps: One of a Kind

Paper: Ginger Blossom Designer Series Paper, River Rock, Guava, Water color

Ink: Black Stazon, Guava, Appricot

Other: Guava Ribbon, Boho Blossoms Punch, Corner Rounder, Aquapainter, Demensionals, Rhinestone brad

My first Beate sketch!

I am a huge fan of Beate's blog- but I have never participated in her sketch challenge. But this week I vowed to find time to work on it. And I did!! I am not over joyed with the card, but I was excited to use the hostess set that I have had for quite some time. I got my colors from the Jersy Shore paper pack. Very easy card!
Don't forget to leave a comment on my blog candy post. I will be picking a winner tonight!
