School Dayz

WARNING: My camera is still at my mom's house and I am unable to use photo shop. I guess my computer doesn't have enough ram to run the program because my computer always freezes when I open it. All this to say- the pictures aren't so great!!!

But I am LOVING this scrapbook layout! This is the layout that both of my scrapbook clubs will be making this month!

Do you see that cork board?!!! I bought a roll of cork and then I ran a piece through my Big Shot with the top note die! Isn't it awesome! And it went through the Big Shot so easily! And that little clip is from the clip assortment. As soon as I saw it at convention- I knew that I would use them in my school layout!

I attached the pictures to Riding Hood Red Cardstock. Then I put the carstock onto the layout with sticky strip on just three sides so that I would have a pocket for my journaling tags.

I cut the stars out with my Big Shot too!!! Fist I took a piece of chipboard and glued some of the Washington Apple DSP to it. Then I ran it through my Big Shot with the Star Die. Simple!!!

I hope my scrappers love it as much as I do!! If you are interested in joining one of my clubs, send me an email or leave a comment. You don't need to live near me.

Scrapbook Club Layout

I had the pleasure of getting together with my scrapbook club today! I always enjoy scrapping with these ladies. Many of them have been in clubs with me for the past year and a half and we have formed a friendship.

They each got to make this two page layout using lots of new stuff from the catty. They loved the page. And so do I!

Do you love the clouds in the sky? I made those with a sponge, Baja Breeze ink and a scrap punched with the scallop circle punch as a mask. I love the way it turned out.

I also love the flowers. I inked the entire stamp with Baja Breeze and then used a sponge dauber to add some Not Quite Navy to the tops of the flowers.

The title "You" was made with the Go Go Boots alphabet and my Big Shot!! My customers will be able to start ordering these on September 2nd!!! Everyone at club today loved it!!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Inspired by Nature, Flight of the Butterfly
Paper: Urban Garden DSP, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Gray
Ink: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie
Other: Scallop Punch, Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Go Go Boots Alphabte Die, Sponge, Sponge Dauber, Baja Breeze Striped Ribbon

Pool Fun

I just LOVE to scrap swimming pictures! I love being able to use bright and fun colors and papers. This layout is for my one of my scrapbook clubs to make this weekend. I think I am going to make it in a 2 page layout tonight....

Did you notice the scallops that I made with the new scallop punch that will be in the catty next week?! It is so easy to use that you will want to add scallops to everything!

Recipe:
Stamps: Best Friends Lower Alphabet
Paper: Spring Break DSP, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Sky, and Whisper White
Ink: Blue Bayou
Other: Old Olive Brads, Pumpkin Pie Striped Ribbon, 1 inch circle punch, tag corner punch, scallop punch, white gel pen, Old Olive Marker

Isn't this this DSP so fun!!! It is on the retiring accessories list along with the in colors- so if you love it- contact me today to get the order in before supplies run out.

Today was my 1st real shift at Michael's. I was the cashier today as the truck did not arrive until I was leaving : ) My toe is crying right now after being stuck in sneakers. I think it will feel better after the kids go to bed and I get inky! Have a nice night!!!

the BEST Card ever and Scrapbook club

Are you ready for the BEST card ever???? My hubby made me my Mother's Day card!! Isn't that sweet?!He even colored those flowers from the pretties kit!

I FINALLY came up with the scrapbook layout for my clubs!!! We will be doing this 2 page Mother's Day layout.

The stamps are Big Deal Alphabet and Embrace Life. The colors are Taken with Teal, Old Olive and Pretty in Pink. I asked all my club members to bring pictures of themselves from Mother's Day. I know that I hardly ever scrapbook about myself so I hope this will inspire them to include more pics of themselves in their albums.

I used a white gel pen around the stamped title to give it a little more interests.
I also wanted my clubs to get to make a card. Here is what I cam up with-

I cased this card from one that Christina Werner did a while back. I used the Three for You punch, silver brads, and the paper piercing tool. The cardstock on the front is actually Shimmery White and very pretty in real life! The colors are Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, and Groovy Guava. I will be so sad when these colors retire!

Happy Stamping!

A fun cased card!

I promised my scrapbook club that we would make card this month in addition to our layouts. Well- I was a last minute Lucy and a couple hours before I had to leave- I had nothing! But I fell in love with this card: http://paperpleasing.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/04/inspired-again.html

So I cased it!!! I changed the colors, the sentiment, the ribbon, and the type of flower from the pretties kit.

Recipe:

Stamps: True Friend, Polka Dot BG

Ink: Versamark, Pumpkin Pie

Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Soft Sky Prints

Other: Soft Sky Ribbon, Build-a-Brad, 1/2 inch circle punch, Pretties kit

OK- I am off to an art show today!! Have a happy weekend!

All Mine

Here is the 2nd layout that my scrapbook clubs will be making this month. I used more of the Western Sky paper as well as the River Rock prints and even a little Ginger Blossom. This page will give them the chance to use the coluzzle and the hodgepodge hardware. The stamp set are Well Worn Alphabet and Wanted.

I am taking 2 of the kiddos swimming today with extended family that have flown in from New York. I just put my swimsuit on and all I can say is - YUCK!!! I hate swimsuits!

Have a great day!

A little of everything!

I have quite a few things to share today! First I was given this award by Kim at http://www.kimsstampinroom.blogspot.com/

Thanks a bunch Kim! You are too sweet and I love visiting your blog!

Here are the rules to the award:

1. You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogging community,no matter what language.

2. Each award has to give the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.

3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.

4. Award winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of Arte y Pico blog,so everyone will know the origin of this award.

5. To show these rules. :)

I have become a bit of a blog addict lately- so it was hard to pick just 5!!! Here are the blogs I chose:

1. Di at http://dianagibbs.typepad.com/stampin_with_di/ - She is a very talented stamper with some of the BEST classes!

2. Cyndi at http://scrappychick.typepad.com/scrappy_chick/ - I LOVE her scrapbook layouts!

3. Heather at http://stampwithheather.typepad.com/stamp_with_heather/ - More awesome scrapbook pages and cute class projects!

4. Gretchen at http://gretchenclark.blogspot.com/ I love her simple card style and her digi scrapbook layouts!
5. Dawn at http://dawnmcvey.typepad.com/these_are_a_few_of_my_fav/ - I love her simple style of cardmaking!
Now on to some stamping projects! I spent some time scrapbooking yesterday since I have my scrapbook clubs coming up. This Wanted page will be one of the layouts we will complete. It is a simple layout. I used the Wanted stamp set and the Live Your Dream set (for the journaling block). I just opened the Western Sky DSP and I love the color combo: Ruby Red, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, and River Rock!
This next layout I made using one of Cyndi's sketches from a few weeks ago. I am a little behind- but I save all the sketches so I can use them when I do get time to play! These are both of the pictures that we took when we went to Flagstaff to play in the snow back in January. All of the supplies are from the Merry and Bright Simply Scrappin' kit which they did retire. I did add some rhinestone brads to all the snow flakes. I made the large circle by tracing the largest circle in the Ginormous Pieces chipboard. The smaller circles were made with the coluzzle. I stamped the title with the Jumbo Outline alphabet. Then I colored the letters in with my Versamark pen. The I embossed it with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. It looks pretty IRL!

And finally, I have this very simple card to show. It is the invitation that I am making for my Hostess Appreciation event on April 10th. I am inviting all of my hostess over to my house for some free stamping projects and free product!
Have a happy Tuesday!!

Do you know how loved you are?

This is a layout that I made last week (while hubby was on Spring break!). Since it doesn't have any chocolate chip on it- I waited to post it. Isn't Kyler a handsome boy?!! These are pictures that we had taken for his 4th birthday. Again- they were taken at portrait innovations. Kyler waited over 2 hours to have his picture taken and he never complained and then posed for these amazing shots!
The page was so simple and I am going to use it for either my scrapbook class or for scrapbook club in April. I can't decide! I took an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of Whisper White cardstock and printed the saying (which I got from a set of stamps in the occasions mini) on my computer. I just left a space for the word "loved" and then stamped that with the Best Friends lower alphabet in Pumpkin Pie ink. That alphabet is so cute. I have owned it since last summer and just now mounted a few of the letters. What is my deal?!
I used the little stars from the set Classic backgrounds to stamp on the Brilliant Blue 12 x12 in Brilliant Blue ink. I used the large star from the same set to stamp for cute polka dot stars in Pumpkin Pie, Brilliant Blue and Wild Wasabi. They are all attached with demensionals. I added a couple of strips of paper from the Jersey Shore DSP pack and a strip of Pumpkin Pie striped ribbon. I used a Brilliant Blue brad on those strips.
The middle photo is mounted on Brilliant Blue and then placed in the center of the Wild Wasabi strip. I mounted the other 2 pics directly to the Wild Wasabi. I like the way I highlighted my favorite of the three pics!
And that is all there is to it. What do you think?
Don't forget to sign up for my blog candy!
