A Digi Layout

Let me preface this by saying- I am NO expert at digital scrapbooking!!! It is fun to fiddle with from time to time but I am not a good one to ask technical questions!!! In fact this page was part of a pre-done kit. All I did was add my pictures and the little bit of journaling! You could make a similar layout with standard scrapbooking supplies too, if you wanted! So enjoy!

Lots of Scrapbooking!

Over the past 2 weeks, I have managed to get quite a few scrapbook layouts done!!! They are all pretty basic and simple. But my goal in scrapbooking is to my children the stories about their childhood that they would never remember otherwise. I don't worry too much about "getting caught up." I just scrapbook the pictures and the stories that are most meaningful to me in the moment.  I focus on photos and journaling. Enjoy the layouts!

So what do you think? Are you motivated to get scrapping?!!!

More Pizzazz

I have to say it again- I love the Petal Pizzazz stamp set in the new catalog!!! I have a couple more cards to show you today with the set...

This one uses that fun textured patterned paper that I was telling you about a couple days ago. Isn't it yummy?!

And this one uses the new Rasberry Tart DSP. I LOVE this one! The colors are so fresh and pretty! And those flowers were very easy to make since I used my scallop punch to cut them out! I am not that great with cutting! I don't know if I should have made it out of kindergarden!

So do you believe me about this Petal Pizzazz set yet?!!!

Tomorrow we will be taking a break from the cards and I have a bunch of scrapbook layouts to show you. Some are Stampin' Up! layouts and some are not. But they all feature my cute kids and I love any chance I can get to show them off!

Happy Stampin'!

A Card with Pizzazz!!!

OMG! I had so much fun scrapping with a friend yesterday and then stamping at home with my new SU! goodies!!! I made so much fun stuff yesterday (and even managed to get errands done!). BUT- I am stamping with a nwe friend this mornig and so I don't have lots of time to post right now. So I am just going to show you one of the cards I made yesterday. I think it may even be my favorite!

I CASED this card by Jenn. I loved the colors and the simplicity. SO then I went and added stuff and slightly changed the colors! I love how it turned out. And I love this new stamp set!!!! It is called Petal Pizzazz. You NEED it!!! I can't put mine down! And how about those cool cordoroy buttons and brads?!!!

Yummy!!!

Ok- I have to go do some more stamping! Tough life, huh?

Big Stamping Day!!!

My new SU! goodies are here!!! The bum part was that they did not come until last night while I was at Piano lessons with my son. I didn't have time to make anything new yet : (  But I did get to drool over my new DSP!!! You NEED to get the Parisian Breeze Specialty paper. It is gorgeous!!!! It is thick and textured and an amazing color combo!!! I will post a picture of it at the end of this post. Last night, I also tried the new circle cutter. I am in love!!! I have wanted a good circle cutter for years! I hated the Coluzzle!!!! But this nwe one is so easy to use and gives a perfect cut without much effort at all. I did get the glass mat since it was recommended.

So this morning I am going to a friend's house for a little scrapping. Yippee! I love scrapping days! Then, after I run some errands, I am coming home to make some cards with my new goodies. I have lots of ideas spinning in my head and I can't wait to play!

Today I have a fun scrapbook layout that I made last week. I am just in love with the pictures of my daughter riding in her Power Wheels that Santa brought for Christmas. WARNING- I didn't use SU! supplies for this one!

I love the way this layout looks IRL but for some reason I can't get the picture to look right. But at least you can see Danika's sweet smiles!!!

Ok here is that DSP that I was telling you about...

Going Pink while waiting for Mr. Brown!

Mr. Brown is out for delivery right now with my brand new Stampin' Up! goodies!!! It seems that I am usually his last stop for the day though. Sometimes I am already in bed when he comes! But that doesn't stop me from looking out the window every time I hear a truck coming down the street!

Anyway- I made some cards this weekend using my Georgia Peach DSP. It just retired but I have resolved to using up some of my gorgeous paper even if it is retired!

I received a super sweet gift from a gal at my MOPS table. So when I got home on Friday- I decided to make her a card to put in the mail. She is a fellow SU! demo and my sideline!

I pulled out my very neglected A Birdie Told ME set and did some paper piecing. This set is so versatile! I think I may have to make some more cards with it!

And then this next card, I made real quick yesterday mornng.

I decided to leave the sentiment off for now because I have no idea who will be getting this card yet! I have to admit that I am a hoader and I have a hard time giving the cards away!!!

A Couple More Dry Erase Boards

It has been a long day and I am pretty tired (4 small kids will do that to you) but I wanted to post the other dry erase boards that I made for the ladies at my MOPS table.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hand Stamped Dry Erase Boards!

Sorry to post so late today but I had MOPS this morning (it's an hour drive each way) and I just never had a chance to schedule a post. But I have a project to show you that I just LOVE. I needed to bring a small gift for ech of the 8 gals at my table and it was suggested that we bring some sort of notebook or something that could be used for To Do lists. It got me thinking about a project that Diana Gibbs made back in December. So here are 2 of the dry erase boards that I made....

So sorry about the crappy lighting in the pictures. It has been cloudy and raining for about 36 hours so there is no good lighting for pictures. But aren't these cute?! I got the photo frames at the dollar store. They are 5x7. I took some patterned paper and printed lines on it with my printer. Then I decorated with a stamped image and stuck it in the frame. Now you can use a Dry Erase marker to write on it!!! I am going to keep mine in my stamp room. Whenever I run out of a crdstock color or something, I can write it on the frame to make ordering easier! I also think it would be great to put next to the phone with a list of friends and family with birthdays coming up. It will help to remind you to call them. You could even use it for phone messages!

I will upload pictures of the other frames this weekend.

Quick Valentine Treat Idea

I like to make my kid's teachers a treat at just about every holiday. They work very hard and I like to show my appreciation. The problem is that my kids have a combined 11 teachers! Plus the piano teacher! That is a lot of treats! So I am always on the look for inexpensive and fast ideas! Well last week I came across this super cute treat bag and so I had to make some of my own. The best part...I got to use my BIG SHOT DIE CUT MACHINE!

I just cut 2 pieces of Chocolate Chip cardstock with my top note die in the Big Shot Die Cut Machine. I then glued one to the front and one to the back of a small brown paper bag that I cut down to be shorter than the top notes. I am not positive where I got the bags- but I think it was at Target.

I just had to paper piece those birds again!!! Don't forget that you only have until January 31st to get these cute stamps at 20% off! Just click HERE for more info.

Recipe:

Stamps: Love You Much, Hugs & Wishes

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Candy Lane DSP

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White

Other: 3 heart punch, top note die, Big Shot Die Cut Machine, large circle punch, Word Window Punch, Pink Pirouette Ribbon

A Spring Day!

So the high today in Casa Grande, AZ is 79 degrees!!! Crazy! But so nice! It feels like spring. I have been wearing capris and flip flops this week! And so here is a nice spring card...

I used a hostess set that just retired on Sunday. It had never seen ink!!!! Crazy! But over the weekend, I really wantd to color with my Copic markers and so I pulled this stamp set out! I am sorry the sentiment is so blurry in the picture but it says "A Nice Word is like a Spring Day."

Here is a close up of the coloring...

I think I am getting better with the copics, but I still have a ways to go.

Recipe:

Stamps: Serene Spring

Paper: Maine Blueberry DSP, Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue, Whisper White

Ink: Black Archival Brilliance

Other: Scallop Edge Punch, White Gel Pen, Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon, Copics Markers, Bashful Blue Button

I went for a walk, did some errands and caught up on some shows I had saved on Tivo. Still nothing!!!

Some Sweets!

Where oh were is my mojo? Has anyone seen it? I must have left it in Orlando!!! Yesterday, I got all my chores done in the morning and saved 2 hours for crafting in the afternoon. I made NOTHING!!! I tried. But nothing happened! So today I am showing you the last project I had made before my trip. Hopefully I will have another project tomorrow, but if I am MIA, you will know that I am still searching for my stamping mojo.

Anyway, I have a sweet little card today that holds one of the Ghiradelli chocolate squares...

And the inside...

Wouldn't this be a fun treat for the teachers at school or for your co workers on Valentine's Day?

BIG NEWS- New catalogs are in the house!!!! The UPS man didn't even knock (or maybe the kids were so loud that I didn't hear) but I kept looking out the window finally- I saw a box. Holly cow! This is an amazing catalog!!! I love the new Manhatten Style watch, the cordoroy buttons, new Big Shot dies ( a butterfly!) and textured plates. Seriouslly- how am I ever going to decide what to order first??!!! Any suggestions????

Of course he is!!!!

Kyler is having a birthday party with some of his (and my!) friends this weekend. I have to admitt that I actually sent out an evite. It is just so much easier for everyone to RSVP!!! But then I made some invites for some of his friends from school and piano class that I did not have email addresses for. I love the way they turned out! Kyler said that they are "cool." I wanted to play our new wii but told myself I couldn't until the invites were made. An hour later I was playing wii!!!

Here is a peak at the inside...

Someone recently asked me "Do you really use your Big Shot Die Cut Machine much?" YES!!!! I use it almost every day!!! I love that thing!

So here is a Valentine that I cased from Jenn Diercks. I added a few more layers but kept with her same envelope of hearts concept.

That cute scallop envelope was cut with the Big Shot Die Cut Machine!

The designer series paper, heart stamps, and heart punch that I used on this card all came from the Love You Much bundle that Stampin' Up! has on sale for 20% off of the catalog price right now!

Dance

Today I am on my way to Orlando for a fun week in Disney with my son and our Godmother!!! If you have sent me an email or ordered a Class By Mail Kit- I will be in touch with you after I return on the 10th! In the meantime, I have scheduled some fun posts for you this week!

Today I want to show you a super simple scrapbook layout that I made to keep photos of my daughter dressed up as a dancer for Halloween. I decided not to use the traditional Halloween colors since she looks so sweet in her pink tutu. It seemed more fitting to make a pink "girly" layout!

I was looking through some sketches that I have saved and found this one...

So here is my go at it...

I really like the way everything isn't straight up and down! Sometimes tilting your pictures or papers can really spice up a drab layout!

Since I am a Patterned Paper Aholic- I used lots of it on this layout. The entire background is a sheet from the Always Designer Series Paper pack. When you use patterned paper as the base for your layout, it might help to mount it onto a sheet of inexpensive cardstock to help make it more sturdy.

I didn't really have any ballet stamps or embelishments- but I did have a couple extra pictures! So I punched out the ballet shoes from the pictures to make my own embelishment!

I think that was a fun (and inexpensive) way t add interest to a layout!

Th strip of Chocolate Chip cardstock on the left side was punched with my Scallop edge punch and then I used the 1/8 inch handheld punch to add the circle. Cool, huh?

Yikes! I just noticed that there isn't any ribbon on this layout!!!! I guess anything is possible!

Stamps: Lovely Letters

Paper: Always DSP, Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette

Ink: Chocolate Chip

Other: Circle punches, scallop edge punch, 1/8 inch handheld punch

Always Valantine

I came across a cute (and simple) Valentine card made by Tessa Wise. I was compelled to make my own. I added some extra layers, some gel pen,  and didn't round my corners- but otherwise it is just like her card.

Isn't it cute? And it is so simple that you could mass produce some of these to send to friends and family next month! All of those cute hearts were punched out with the new heart punch that comes in the Love You Much Bundle. I also used the Love You Much stamp set for a few of those hearts.

Guess what I am doing today? I am packing my suitcase!!!! First thing in the morning, my son and I are flying to Florida with our Godmother to spend th week in Disney World!!! I am just a big kid when it comes to Disney!!!  And I just can't wait to see the look on Kyler's face when he sees all of his favorite characters! Next week he will be celebrating his 5th birthday so I am extra excited to be able to spend so much time with him. We are going to have a blast! If you are going to Stampin' Up! leadership in Orlando this week- maybe I will see you there! And maybe you'll let me have a peak at the new catalog???? lol!

Anyway, I have scheduled posts for the entire time that we are gone so you won't be missing a thing!!! My hubby offered to post for me while I was goe. He said that he was going to take over and re-name the blog "Stamping Daddy of 3." You have been warned!!!

Love Birds

Do you have the Love You Much bundle yet? If you do, then I don't need to tell you how cute the new stamps are!!! My favorite stamp from the set is the two birds! They just scream to be paper pieced!!!

I cased THIS card since it is the perfect layout to show off this yummy designer series paper that also comes in the Love You Much bundle. I used 4 different patterns on this card! It is so easy to mix paterned papers when they coordinate like the Stampin' Up! designer series papers do!

The birds were pieced together. I stamped them once on the Very Vanilla cardstock and then again on each of the patterned papers. I cut the boddies out of the patterned papers and glued them to the Very Vanilla. I added some shadows to ground the birds with Basic Gray ink and a blender pen. The heart was punched out of the Ridinghood Red cardstock using the new punch that also comes in the bundle!

Did I mention that the bundle is 20% off of the catalog price if you order now?!!!

Recipe:

Stamps: Love You Much

Paper: Candy Lane DSP, Kraft, Very Vanilla, Ridinghood Red, Pink Pirouette

Ink: Basic Black, Basic Gray
