Season of Friendship- Day One

I fell in love with the stamp set Season of Frienship from the Occassions Mini this past winter. But I never got a chance to order it : (  So I was super excited when I saw that it is in the new catalog that starts on July 1st!!! And even more excited when a friend loaned me her set!!!!! Yay!!! In fact I was so excited that I whipped up 6 cards in a couple of hours!!! I haven't stamped like that in ages!!! It felt good!!! So this week I have a whole series of posts for you using the set Season of Friendship. By the end of the week- you will be wanting the set too!!!!

Here is my first one.....

This card was inspired by several that I saw in the Splitcoast gallery. But I had to add my favorite half back pearls!!! Gosh I just love those things!!!! The color combo is Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip. I LOVE the combo and must use it again soon!

I will have another one for you tomorrow!

Scrappy Sunday

I am the family photographer. I can almost always be found behind the camera. But I am trying very hard to remember to pass the camera to my hubby so that I am in some pictures too! And then I have to try even harder to put them in the scrapbook!!! My kids will want to know about me too. So today I have a layout about some goals that I have for myself. It's a simple layout- but I like the way it turned out.

Even though I made my layout digi- this could easily be made with paper!!! The kit I used is called Strawberry Hill and I bought it as part of the Digi Files 5. I paid $5 for 8 different kits!!! You only have until the end of the month to grab it!!!

Scrappy Saturday

I am making it my goal to have a scrapbook layout to show you every Saturday!!! This will keep me scrapping!!! I am gonna warn you that at this moment most of my scrapping is digi. I may do some paper scrapping in the future. But it is so much cheaper and faster to do digi scrapping so I am really drawn to it. But you paper scrappers can always get some inspiration from the layouts anyway!

This week's page uses a photo that I took on Father's Day of my kids and my hubby.

More butterflies!

I don't know why but I have been butterfly happy lately!!!! I LOVE the butterfly die for the big shot from Stampin' Up!. I have used that a lot. But I am also loving the stamp set Great Friend. That is one of the sets that I used for today's card. And I paired it with the words from the set Flight of the Butterfly.

Gosh I sure do love those half back pearls from the Pretties kit!!!! Does anyone know where I can just buy a whole package of them??!!!!

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! I am off to the movies with the kids!!!

One Layer Cards!!!

I NEVER make one layer cards! And I am always amazed by those stampers who can make one layer cards look so beautiful. But I was browsing through the new catalog and suddenly had an idea for a card! The layout was not really inspired by anything in the catalog. But the color combo for this first card was inspired from the new Decor Elements catalog. The front cover is so bright and cheerful. I love it!!! And I almost never stamp with bright colors. So I decided I needed to give it a try. The color combo is Brilliant Blue, Green Galore, Tempting Torquoise, and So Saffron. Here is what I came up with....

Since the colors were so bright- I decided to leave lots of white space to the eyes had a place to reast. So what do you think???

I really like it. Am I allowed to say that about my own card? Oh well. I did! So I decided to make the same card and use some of my favorite colors: Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Old Olive.

I kinda like them both! They were both quite a bit out of my comfort zone. It is fun to stretch yourself when stamping from time to time!

I am in a bit of a hurry and since I already gave you the color combos- I am just going to let you know the stamp sets used. The flowers are from the set Petal Pizazz and the words are from Stem Sayings.

Have a great Thursday!

Birthday Ensable

My Mother-In-Law is celebrating her birthday tomorrow. But as a family, we got together and celebrated last weekend. We got her a very pretty necklace and earling set and I wanted to make a bag to put it in and a matching card. But at the time, I wasn't feeling well so I knew I needed to keep it very simple. Here is what I came up with....

Here is a close-up of the card:

And the little gift bag:

This bag was made by attaching 2 top notes to a small lunch bag (I purchased at Target in the gift bag area) and cuttig the bag down to be shorter. Then I punched a little handle and used ribbon to tie it shut.

Here is a side view:

I used the same supplies on both projects.

Recipe:

Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly

Paper: Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP, Kraft, Baja Breeze

Ink:Chocolate Chip

Other: Big Shot Die Cut Machine, Butterfly Die, Top Note Die, Ridinghood Red Taffeta, Button Bouquet, Word Window Punch, Eyelet Punch, SMall bags

Kristina Werner CASE

I lovethis card by Kristina Werner. I knew that it would make for the perfect card for my husband for Fathers Day. My husband isn't into golf, or grilling, or tools. He doesn't wear ties. So I was stumped on his card. But, duh!!!! He loves his kids! So their cute faces need to be on the front of the card. What do you think?

The paper I used is from Making Memories, Noteworthy line. The chipboard is from Stampin' Up! and I inked it up with Chocolate Chip ink. I punched a hole in the card and tied the card shut with some chocolate Chip ribbon. The finished card size is 4x4.

Simple and Masculine

I LOVE to make smple cards. But I always struggle with making masculine cards. Almost all of my stamps are floral sets and I am addicted to ribbon and buttons! So making Father's Day cards is always a huge challenge for me.

This is a super simple card that I made for my Father-In-Law using the set Boys Will Be Boys by Taylored Expressions. I just stamped the image on Kraft cardstock and colored it with my Copic markers. The white layer on the card was run through my Big Shot with one of the texture plates from Stampin' Up!

I am taking a picture of the card I made for my hubby right now. I will schedule it for tomorrow. Promise!!!!

Today the kids have swim lessons, then swimming in the back yard. In the afternoon we are going to do a craft together and hopefully work on writing their names. I am so happy to have my hubby home today. Maybe I will be able to sneak a little stamping time in! Have a great Monday!!!

Happy Father's Day!

I didn't get a chance to photograph the card that I made for my hubby : (   But I will take a picture in the morning so I can share it with you tomorrow. In the meantime, here are a couple pics I took today of my sweetie and his babies....

I feel so very blessed! I love them all!

Breaking Out of Retirement!

One of the neat things that I have been doing since I quit my job as a Stampin' Up! demo is giving myself permission to use retired stuff!!! I have DSP that I LOVE and never used anymore because it was retired. It was a personal decison not to use the retired stuff when I was a demo. I didn't want to tease people with product that I couldn't sell them. Well now I feel less resticted. So I am going to tease ya!!!!

This card used retired DSP and the Die Cut Blooms that I am pretty sure are retired. Strangly- the card does not have any stamping!

This is another card that I CASED. I believe the original creator was Erin Blair. I love the bright colors! And I left off a greeting so that it would be ready for any occasion!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend and I will be back on Sunday to share the cards that the kids and I will be giving to my sweet hubby for Father's Day.

Stamps: None!

Paper: Summer Picnic, Real Red, Old Olive

Other: Die Cut Blooms, Build a Brad, Small circle punch, large oval punch, Real Red Striped Ribbon

Super Simple Card For You!

I love to make simple cards! Even a simple hand-made card is so much more special than any store bought card!!! I think that the easiest and quickest way to make a simple card is to let the patterned paper do most of the work!

Recipe:

Stamps: Great Friend

Paper: Tea Party DSP, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White

Ink: Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant

Other: Old Olive Grosgrain Ribon, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Half Back Pearls (from the Pretties Kit)

Another CASE!!!!

I love to CASE cards from other talented stampers! I spend way too much time in blog land and when I find something that inspires me- I usually pick up the stamp right away and run with it. Sometimes it is an almost exact replica when I finish. And other times it looks nothing like the original.

Today I have 2 cards for you that I cased from Andrea Walford. And I think she CASED here card from one in a magazine! I cased tha layout but used different papers and stamps. And since I likes the layout so much- I picked some more paper and stamps and made a second card!

I love how masculine this card turned out. I never have any masculine cards handy. And this would be a great Father's Day card, don't ya think? So I went ahead and made 2 of this one!

Here is the same layout with different papers and stamps. Sorry the sentiment looks so yucky. Need to re-ink my Old Olive pad I guess. It is also hard to tell in this pic, but the white is dry embossed with the dots!

Recipes:

Stamps: Cheers for You, Mailbox Greetings (Papertrey Ink)

Paper: Delicate Dots DSP (retired), Whisper White, Bashful Blue

Ink: Basic Black

Make a Splash

My kids are on their third week of swim lessons for the summer. I am pleasently suprised at how well they are all doing! It has been ages since I have shared kid pictures here on ym stamping blog- but I just can't help it today! I LOVE swimming pictures! So if you are here for the card, you have my permission to scroll down!

This is my oldest, Kyler.

This is Makenzie. She is one of the twins and they will be turning 4 next month!!! Wow!

Here is her twin sister, Danika.

And this is my baby, Laynee. And she is going to be 3 next month!

Aren't they adorable?!!!! I just love them!!!!

Now on to the card!!!! I was so excited when the Paper Pretties introduced this stamp as one of their stamps of the month! It reminds me of my girls!!!!!

I CASED this card big time!!!!! Becky Carafa made the orginal which you can see HERE. I changed the main image and the sentiment- but otherwise kept it the same. The colors in this DSP (which is retired) always remind me of summer! The stamp is from Paper Pretties and I colored her with Copic Markers, but the rest of the card is made with Stampin' Up! supplies.

Recipe:

Stamps: Make a Splash (Paper Pretties)

Paper: Spring Break DSP (retired), Soft Sky (retired), Whisper White

Ink: Graphite Brilliance Black

Other: Copic Markers, Silver Brads, Spiral Punch

For You

Did you have a great weekend? I had the pleasure of spending lots of time with my sweet kiddos and my fantastic hubby. We even went to my favorite restaurant for dinner last night- Oreganos. Yum!

The card that I have for you today is one of my recent favorites! I am going to have to use the layout again real soon. It was a SFYTT a couple of weeks ago.

I have been on a kick lately of making all occasion cards. They are great to have on hand!!!

I used all SU! product on this card except for the oval and scallop oval nesties. But SU! does sell similar shaped dies for the Big Shot. Speaking of SU!, have you seen the new in colors??? They will be available on July 1st and I have them on my wishlist!!! They have in color markers and polka dot ribbon this year. Yay!!!!! Cannot wait! Good thing I have a birthday in July (hint hint, hubby!!!)

It has been so good to hear from you guys!!! Keep leaving those sweet comments, as I have so missed blogging. It feels great to be back!!!

Love My Girl

I don't generally post on weekends, but I just finished this digi page and could not wait to share it!!!!!

I just LOVE the way that Laynee smiles!!!! Her nose is all scrunched up and she looks so happy!

Whenever I post a digi page, I get lots of questions about where I get my kits, the software I use, and where I print them. I just want to point out that I have a link at the top of my blog called Most Frequently Asked Questions about Digi Scrapping. I think you will find most of your answers there! If not, let me know!!!

I will be back on Monday. I have stamped cards to show you every day next week! I am on a roll!!!!

Par-fect Day!

Today my hubby and I are taking the kids to go see Horten Hears a Who. I don't know why- but I love that movie! So I am excited. Nothing like buttery popcorn and M&Ms for breakfast!!! Then after the movie, the three older kids have a singing class with Parks and Rec. They are thrilled about it!

So I am taking a bit of a risk showing you this card today. See I always tell my friends to check out my blog. But I don't think my non-stamping friends really look!!! So I am showing you a Father's Day card that I made for one of my bestest friends. We'll see if he listens to me!!!

I got this stamp set Boys Will be Boys from Taylored Expressions just for my Father's Day Cards! I needed a more manly set or my hubby would be getting a floral Father's Day Card!!!! I stamped the image on Kraft cardstock and colored it with my Copics.

Hola Chica!

I joined the Paper Pretties Stamp of the Month club a while back. I wanted to work on coloring with my Copic Markers and so I thought it would be fun to get a new outline stamp in the mail each month! I still have a long way to go on learning to color with these things but I am sure having fun trying!

The stamp is by Paper Pretties. The coloring is done with Copics. And the rest of the card is made with Stampin' Up stuff.

Love My Friends!!!

I have had a rotten month. There is no other way to say it!!! But one great thing that has come out of this tough month- is that I am closer than ever to my friends. And I have some great ones! You know who you are! When I was making this card, I was thinking of you!

I completly CASED this one from Andrea Walford! All I did was change the sentiment and the color of the butterfly. Otherwise it is just like her card. Remember, I told you that this long stamping break really messed with my mojo!!!

Recipe:

Stamps: Great Friend

Paper: Rasberry Tart DSP, Pink Pirouette, Ridinghood Red, Whisper White

Ink: Cameo Coral, Kiwi Kiss

Other: Half Back Pearls, Button Bouquet, one random white button I had in my stash

My return to stamping!!!!

Yay!!! I have been stamping a little bit every day for the past week!!! After taking such a long break, I have noticed that it takes me a lot longer to finish a card!!!! But the stamping is theraputic! I have so missed it. And I have missed blogging with you too! Here is some good news- I have posts scheduled for every day this week!

Here is a very simple card for ya today.

I used all Stampin' Up! products on this one. The patterned papers are from two different packs of paper! I think that at least one of them is even retired.

Here are some moer digi pages for you. I have actually done some stamping and just need to get pics of the cards to share with you. Thanks for sticking with me!

All of these layouts were made with a quick Page kit. All I did was add my photos, titles, and journaling!!! It just doesn't get much faster than that!!!!

I will have some cards for you tomorrow!!!! Yay!!!
